Reflections of Home: Curating Art for Affordable Housing, will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM at St. Lydia’s: Dinner Church and Co-working Space. This event will showcase artists of all genres from around the city depicting what home means to them. While attendees enjoy each other’s company and eat and drink, they will have an opportunity to view the artistic contributions, participate in a silent auction, hear spoken word and participate in art projects all focused on the theme of housing and home.
We believe that all New Yorkers deserve safe and stable housing that feels like home. All too often, however, New Yorkers struggle to find adequate and safe housing, pay rising rents, and stay in the community in which they have built roots. All proceeds from the event will be used to support micro grants awarded to housing and tenants’ rights organizations who are taking small but important steps to make this vision of safe and stable housing for all a reality.
