One thing we’ve seen powerfully — from the Women’s March to the Climate March — is that our resistance can also be joyful. Even as we are fighting harm, we are building new relationships and celebrating our values.
In that spirit, on Tuesday, July 25th, 5 – 8 PM, #GetOrganizedBK is planning a free Civic Festival in the Prospect Park Bandshell — to push forward with our organizing, to celebrate the amazing work #GetOrganizedBK working groups and members have accomplished, and to come together in a venue that can fit all of us.
Details are to come in the following days — but this festive civic gathering will be an opportunity to highlight the ongoing work of our members, bring new people into the movement and offer a glimpse of the deepening of resistance work into longer-term community-building. Hear from citywide and national leaders, testimonials from activists across generations, activities, entertainment, tabling & activism opportunities by #GOBK working groups, partners, and sponsors, and more.
